Why Davim?

At DAVIM, a unique trilogy of students, faculty and learning resources produces some of the best minds in the country. Consequently, our students today hold some of the top managerial positions across companies in India and abroad.

DAVIM's students come from diverse backgrounds, which in itself helps them to examine managerial issues from multiple perspectives. In addition, an environment conducive to new ideas and sharing of knowledge helps in the development of a spirit of co-operation among students. Some of the unique characteristics of our students include academic excellence, leadership qualities, the ability to lead change, and a deep rooted respect for culture and values.

The essential catalyst in this process of transformation is our highly accomplished and erudite faculty. Our faculty members are involved in teaching, consultancy, as well as leading-edge research in key managerial areas. Many of them have taken up teaching assignments at DAVIM after twenty or thirty years of experience in senior positions with leading Corporates in India. Several of them have multiple books and publications to their credit. As a consequence, they bring a rich combination of academic rigour as well as practical , industrial experience to the class room. For these reasons, DAVIM students are known to have significantly higher industrial exposure than most others.

As an added advantage, the learning provided at DAVIM is not only restricted to the class-room. Several DAVIM students take up live projects with industry, so as to get an insight into the realities of real-world business. Teaching methods at the DAVIM include lectures, case studies, seminars, group discussions, business games, role plays, simulation exercises, structured and unstructured group work, as well as field visits. The emphasis is on involving the students in learning and helping them to relate concepts and theories to business requirements.

In a nutshell, the Course at DAVIM equip our students with the skills, knowledge, and analytical mind-set required to identify and solve problems, effective communication skills to communicate these solutions, and sufficient practical exposure to create action plans and implement these solutions.
