Centre For Environment

Centre for Environment

In reality we as a human race have expanded our footprints on the earth’s ecosystems to a point where it’s hurting us, it’s hurting all forms of life, and it’s certainly something that our children and grandchildren will curse us for. We can’t leave this planet in this condition. World must move toward a pattern of sustainable development.

The adverse impact of deteriorating environment/global warming has compelled the concerned segments of societies in the world to initiate necessary measures for its protection. The target of the mankind should be to bring down emissions to below zero and find ways by which we can absorb existing carbon dioxide. Technologically, that’s entirely possible. It may happen 30, 40 or 50 years from today.

For achieving this it is essential to create awareness among the public and in turn public will put pressure on leaders (especially in democracy) to do what is expected of them in this regard.

The vision of the center is to act as a knowledge hub to encourage environment friendly activities at home and at operations level in business organizations.

The center primarily aims to spread awareness among management students who are our future business leaders. Secondly we aim to spread awareness and develop inclination of industry towards adoption of clean technologies. Finally we aim to impress upon the government to help greening the environment by way of development of important administrative tools and techniques which include legislation, surveys, impact assessment, pollution control, research, collection and dissemination of information relating to vital environmental concerns.
